Outline of Research at the Start	フランスのオリエンタリスムから生まれた「日本」や「東洋」は、どのように20世紀初頭に修正され、現在の日本表象に繋がっているのだろうか。本研究は、美術・藝術における「日本的なもの」が創造・修正されたその過程を調査するものである。 1910～1940年代にフランス語で語られた日本の美学・藝術に関する文献に関する研究の蓄積は乏しい。世界は複雑化され、ジャポニスム自体も変容し、その測量が困難になるからだ。本研究は、日本とフランス間のみに限定せず、インドシナを含めた三点から藝術における「日本的なもの」の測量を行う。なかでも、いずれの三地点とも関わった岡倉覚三、桜澤如一、キク・ヤマタの仏語の文献を手掛かりとする。
