Outline of Research at the Start

アルメニア人の音楽家コミタスは、20世紀初頭の同時代作曲家と比べて独自作品が少ないのにアルメニア人社会で「近代国民音楽の創始者」とされているのは、第一次世界大戦中のオスマン帝国下のアルメニア人虐殺・追放事件に巻き込まれたコミタスが、第一次世界大戦後に旧ロシア帝国地域に成立したソヴィエト・アルメニアという社会主義「国家」にとり、民族的悲劇という国民統合の象徴にふさわしかったためである。その直弟子トゥマジャンがアメリカからソヴィエト・アルメニアに移住してコミタスの業績を伝えたのと同時期にアルメニア科学アカデミーでコミタスの全集の編纂が始まったが、これがコミタスの神話化にどう影響したのかを検証する。
