Outline of Research at the Start

オスマン軍楽／軍楽隊（メヘテル〔メフテル〕）は、オスマン帝国期の戦時・平時の音楽を支え、17世紀から18世紀の西洋音楽に「トルコ風」音楽として多大な影響を与えた存在として知られる。しかしオスマン朝末期以降は近代化の波を受け廃止と復興を繰り返し、第二次世界大戦後に再々興を遂げた。ではメヘテルはその後、どのような歴史的経緯を経て現在に至るのか、また現代においていかなる仕方で実践され、意味づけられてきたのか。本研究は、復興以降の現代におけるメヘテルに焦点を当て、その「伝統」をめぐる継承・再編のプロセスと実相を、日本におけるメヘテルの受容検証も射程に入れつつ解明することを目指す。
