Outline of Research at the Start	特に、1920年代の劇団を伴わない現地スタッフや俳優との協働によるアンサンブル演出や群衆演出を実現した演出家マックス・ラインハルトの活動に注目し、その人材交流と集団的創造の成果に光を当てる。それは欧州で醸成された「演出家」や「演出」の機能を、異なる文化の中に浸透させる過程であり、かつ現地の舞台芸術を担う人材育成の場を提供している。この時期の「演出家」が、単独で国際的な場でクリエイションを行うという事象の萌芽を確認し、「演出家」を取り巻く現代的な問題にも照らし、「演出家」の仕事と人材育成に関する問題を捉え直すことを目指す。
