Outline of Research at the Start	1950-60年代に制作された小津安二郎監督作品に関する草稿や加筆修正入台本、絵コンテ等一次資料群を対象として、次の３点を明らかにする。・小津の直筆が入る資料と関連資料との比較から補完できる事柄・従来の映像分析の手法では明らかでなかった小津映画の成立過程・小津映画研究、ひいては日本映画研究における一次資料の意義 1950-60年代は小津の評価が定まったこともあり、多くの資料が残されている。また、近年新資料が発掘されている。これらの比較検討を通じて小津映画の成立過程を実証し、定説を再考しながら、小津安二郎、ひいては映画史における一次資料の意義を明らかにする。
