近世仏像制作における錐点用法の検討－京都仏師畑次郎右衛門の作例を基準とした実証－

Outline of Research at the Start	山形県鶴岡市の曹洞宗寺院・龍澤山善寳寺五百羅漢堂の五百羅漢像（木造）の修復過程で確認した仏像制作技法である「錐点」に着目する。この錐点はこれまでに認識されてきた用法の範疇に止まらず、複数体の仏像を制作する場合の基準点に使用していると考えられた。山形県をはじめ、日本海側の曹洞宗寺院には、江戸時代に京都で活動していた仏師制作の羅漢群像が散見されるが、錐点の有無についてはわかっていない。善寳寺五百羅漢像に確認できた錐点の用法が、他の羅漢群像に該当すると実証し、江戸時代の京都仏師社会で、錐点が横断的な技法として群像の仏像制作に実用していた実態の解明を目指す。
