Outline of Research at the Start	織豊時代（1573～98）の公家日記には激動する時代の動静とともに、公家と武家の細やかな文化的交流の様相も記録されている。『時慶記』などの公家日記には驚くほどの植物の記述がみられ、人々が園芸や庭園、そして本草学にまで関心を寄せていたことがわかる。またこの時期の建築内部は、長谷川等伯らの智積院障壁画、狩野光信らの勧学院障壁画などのように、樹木や草花の造形に特化した花鳥図から花木図への劇的な展開をみせるものもあった。本研究では織豊時代の公家日記にみられる草花や本草学関連の記述や、植物を介した公武の知的交流に焦点をあて、かつてないほどの植物への関心が同時代の視覚芸術へあたえた影響を考察する。
