Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、抽象表現主義において重視される作品の「スケール」を焦点に様式を考察し、抽象表現主義の画家達が作品と展示空間、観者の関係によって創出しようとした「場」とは何かを解明するものである。さらに「場」を手がかりに、抽象表現主義以降の美術に与えた影響について考察する。具体的には、(1) 抽象表現主義における作品の「スケール」は何を意図しているのか、様式の成立および時代背景から読み解く。(2) 作品と展示空間、観者の関係から、画家達がどのような「場」の創出を試みていたのかを解明する。(3)作品の「スケール」および「場」の創出が、抽象表現主義以降の美術動向にどのような影響を与えたのかを考察する。
