Outline of Research at the Start	絹を基底材として用いた東アジアの仏教絵画に認められる裏彩色を研究課題とする。裏彩色は、絹を裏側から彩色する絵画の表現技法であるが、画面の裏側に塗られた色彩の情報を把握し得る機会は、作品の修理時など極めて稀である。そのため研究者の間には重要な情報という認識がありながら、多数の作品における裏彩色を通覧し、その表現上の効果や歴史的変遷、地域や時代による差異などを検討する研究は行われてこなかった。しかし近年、裏彩色の情報を画像として修理時に記録できるようになり、多数のサンプルの準備が整ってきた。本研究では、これらをベースに多くの作例の裏彩色の情報を収集し、検討、整理して、初めての通史的な把握を行う。
