Outline of Research at the Start	20世紀前半には二つの世界大戦があり、音楽領域において政治的枠組みを超えた国際組織を整える動きが加速した。その中心となった国の一つがフランスである。フランスは「音楽学」が学問的に整備されていく時期にあり、音楽学者のロマン・ロランらが中心となって、音楽家・音楽学者たちが協力し合う国際的なネットワークが作られていった。明治維新以降急速に西洋化政策を進めてきた日本もこの動向に加わることになる。本研究は、1900年代から1940年代までを対象に、音楽学の国際化が音楽創造の発展にいかに寄与したかを明らかにし、そこでフランスの音楽家・音楽学者が果たした役割を、日本への影響も含めて検証する。
