Outline of Research at the Start	近世能楽史研究において大聖寺藩の能楽は取り上げられてこなかった。本研究では大聖寺藩の時代に遡及して歴代藩主がどのように能楽に親しんだか、そして小藩の旧藩主前田利鬯がどのように明治前期に流行した華族能の常連となり、能楽復興に関わったか、さらに利鬯は天保12年から大正9年まで長生きしたので、その間能楽の主体が華族から家元へと推移し、地方の能楽も興隆するさまを彼の活動を追跡することで俯瞰できるという利点を活かし、文献資料に基づきながら詳細・具体的に明らかにする。
