Outline of Research at the Start

京都の書肆初代西村市郎右衛門が西鶴本に対抗して刊行した浮世草子類は「西村本」と称せられ、元禄期当時、その好色本は西鶴を凌ぐとされていた。
好色本の流行は元禄期の浮世草子界に好色本マンネリズムを招来することになるが、初代の没後、浮世草子出版に消極的であった二代目市郎右衛門は宝永期に西沢一風や北条団水に追随する形で俄かに浮世草子界に参入するとともに、一風も好色本を出版するようになる。
本研究では、初代・二代目の西村本、特にその好色本の特徴を同時代の三都の好色本との比較において概観するとともに、上記における一風好色本出現の意味、および団水・二代目の新動向について、当時の出版界の状況とともに考察する
