Outline of Research at the Start

言葉・表現・作品と、社会的な記憶のあり方は大きな相関関係を有する。中世日本では、社会的な動乱の記憶が多くの作品の生成を促し、それらの作品が新たな社会的な記憶を形作した。社会的な大事件や危機は、それらを収める新たな論理や物語が要請する。この要請は個人・共同体・文化圏と様々なレベルで出来し、それぞれの思いや立場、正当性、価値観などを反映し、対立や衝突をも生じながら、新たな文学と社会的な記憶が創り出されるのである。ならば、中世日本とは、社会的な記憶と文学のあり方が顕著に表れる時代と位置付けられる。本研究では、中世日本文学の諸作品を対象に、社会的な記憶と作品生成のあり方を問い、関係性の解明を目指す。
