Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、従来の研究史であまり注目されてこなかった近世中後期を中心に肥後文化圏の文事について解明する。永青文庫等に蔵される史資料を調査分析し、桂宮家や有栖川宮家を中心とする禁裏・堂上との関わりや藩内外の文化的動向を詳らかにし、堂上と藩との懸け橋となった女性や家臣団の文化活動が肥後・堂上の双方にどのような影響をもたらしたのか、近世中後期の肥後歌壇が堂上歌壇へ与えた影響とその意義を明らかにする。また、文化年間以降に見られる幽斎の神格化が堂上・肥後の双方の歌壇や文化圏にいかなる影響を与えたか、堂上歌学復興の観点から検証し直し、近世中後期の歌壇史に新たな光をあてる。
