Outline of Research at the Start	研究対象とするのは、予備調査で存在が明らかになった石淵・渋江両家の史資料全体と、学問伝播状況を見るために必要な史資料である。まず、幕末の地球儀を所有していた七城地域の医師・石淵家に関しては、同家が蔵する史資料150点の目録を作成してその全貌を明らかにするとともに、その中から、明治中期に設立を果たした私学校「楽只学舎」の概要史料を翻刻し、同地域の教育状況を解明する。次に、原地域の神主・渋江家の史資料の中から、熊本藩の学問をリードした渋江公正や歴代の「蔵書目録」を翻刻し、書物の流布状況を明らかにする。また、公正の「門人帳」を翻刻することで、同地域の学問伝播や教育に関する状況を解明する。
