Outline of Research at the Start	本研究の目的は、１９世紀の英米を中心に出版され、cheap editionと総称される廉価版の洋書小説から生み出された、日本近代の翻案作品が有する意義と影響を明らかにすることである。そしてそれらの翻案の文学史上の意義を再考し、延いては国内外へと拡がる新たな研究分野への第一歩と為すことを目指すものとする。
