Outline of Research at the Start

21世紀に入り、北米及び一部のアジア諸国において、多文化主義と人種の関係性を再考する英語文学作品が多く見られるようになった。この現象は、世界金融危機によって深刻化する人種差別に対して、多くの作家が危機意識を持ち、多民族間の平和的共存を求めていることを反映していると考えられる。本研究は、2010年以降のカナダ、アメリカ、マレーシア、シンガポールの英語文学において、多文化主義と人種の関係性およびその矛盾や課題がどのように表現され、どのようなパラダイム転換や政治的主張を表しているかを分析する。これを通じて、「人種」と「多文化主義」の概念の背後にある文化的・政治的な意味や影響を明らかする。
