Outline of Research at the Start	本研究では、英国の「1984-85年炭鉱ストライキ」に関わる文化表象を網羅的に収集して評価し、この労働争議を扱った作品の社会史的・文化史的意義を問い直していく。この歴史的事件に関しては、テレビや映画のドキュメンタリーが製作されているだけでなく、文学・映画・テレビドラマ・演劇・音楽などの多様なジャンルの表象文化作品がこれを題材として取り上げている。本研究では、それらを総合的に考察し、この「ストライキ」を単なる時事的なトピックとしてではなく、何十年にもわたり英国の人々の創作意欲をかき立てた戦後史の中の重大事件と捉え直し、その文化表象にしかるべき学術的考察を加えていく。
