『失われた時を求めて』の作者マルセル・プルースト（1871-1922）は、今や世界中でよく知られた小説家となり、作品と作家をめぐる情報はあらゆるレベルで年々増大している。本研究はその収集・整理・保存のみならず、プルーストの小説世界を理解する上で読者にとって有用であり、また専門家にも研究の指針となるような情報を示すものである。具体的には社会、歴史、芸術、文芸批評などを糸口にデジタル版プルースト事典を作成し、ウエブ上で一般に広く公開する。
