Outline of Research at the Start	1975年から1979年のポル・ポト政権下では、中国の文化大革命に倣った極端な共産主義が推進され、知識人や書物は害悪をもたらすものとして排除された。同政権崩壊後はソ連・ベトナム支援型社会主義政権が1990年初頭まで続いた。厳しい言論統制の下、文学作品は社会主義リアリズムの手法で書かれ国営印刷所で出版された。この時期に市井の人びとの文化的構築物である読書行為がどのように始まり、発展していったかを文学社会学的な視点を踏まえて考察する。研究対象として1980年代に流通していた地下写本小説を蒐集、内容を精査し、かつての作家、読者、貸本屋、密輸商人へのインタビューをもとに文学活動を明らかにする。
