Outline of Research at the Start	トマス・カーライルは、自我を滅却することで自然が超自然的なものの象徴として顕現するという「自然的超自然主義」の思想を説いたが、こうしたカーライル流の「自然的超自然主義」に通じる〈自我の無化―自然即超自然〉のイメージを詩的に表現した詩人として、北村透谷、宮沢賢治、ゲーリー・スナイダーを挙げることができる。本研究では、哲学上の自然主義に対する批判という、三者に共通する思想性にも留意しながら、彼ら各々の〈自我の無化により顕現する自然の超自然性〉の詩的表現を分析し、〈自然的超自然主義〉の詩学の可能性を探求する。
