Outline of Research at the Start	後漢時代の許慎が著した最古の漢字字典である『説文解字』には、秦の時代に８種類の書体、新の王莽の時には６種類の書体が存在したという。その『説文解字』に記載された書体の認識は、後世にどのような影響をもたらすことになったのか明らかにしたい。『説文解字』に見られる古文・奇字を分析し、許慎がどのような基準で古文と奇字を分類したのかを明らかにすることは、楚簡を利用することができなかった従来の研究にはない新たな試みである。本研究は文字学の発展のみならず書法史を含めた文字文化研究にも一定の貢献をなし得ると確信する。
