Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は広東語、台湾ビン南語の疑問標識（具体的には広東語文末助詞 me1, maa3、ビン南語kam2など）を対象に取り上げ、①疑問義の非中立化、②＜問いかけ＞性の希薄化といった意味機能変化の様相をコーパス調査、母語話者へのインタビュー調査、さらには歴史的文献資料の用例調査といった実証的、理論的裏付けを備えた手法により明らかにし、当該言語における疑問表現体系の再編メカニズムを跡付ける。その結果を、漢語系諸語全体、さらには世界の諸言語における疑問標識の意味機能変化の知見の中に位置付ける。
