Outline of Research at the Start	本研究では、トルコの秘密語に関する資料や、今も秘密語の知識を保持している話者へのインタビューを通じ、秘密語の秘匿性の低さや周囲の言語からの借用の多さなどについてデータを収集し、トルコにおける秘密語が、発話の秘匿よりむしろ、自集団を周囲の大集団への同化から守り維持するための言語変種であることを明らかにする。さらに、トルコの秘密語は、かつての母語（例えばアルメニア語）からトルコ語への言語シフトが生じた際に、かつての母語から継承した語彙を使った再語彙化の（おそらく意図な）プロセスにより成立し、その後も必要な語彙を周囲の秘密語から借用することにより成立した可能性についても検討する。
