Outline of Research at the Start

借用語のダイナミクスの一端を明らかにし，文法全体との接点を探求する。借用語のメカニズムについては，借用元となる供給言語が，受容言語の語彙体系にそれまで存在しない概念や機能語を加えることが多い。消滅の危機にある上ソルブ語（ドイツ）をケーススタディとして選び，現地調査によって一次資料を収集し，分析をおこなう。特に1990年のドイツ再統一以降に用いられるようになった，比較的新しい借用語について，形態・音韻など文法的特徴の類型化をめざす。また，ドイツ語由来や英語由来など，来歴に応じて借用元の言語が上ソルブ語の文法体系に影響を及ぼしているか否かを明らかにすることで，現在のソルブ語の姿を記述する。
