Outline of Research at the Start	「[太郎が書いた][本]」は「本」が全体のラベル（範疇）を決める要素で、修飾節は範疇を決める上では脇役である。ここでは「書いた」という連体形により、「本」が主要部(head)で節が脇役であることを示している。英語では「[books][which John wrote]」のようにwhichが節を脇役にするマーカーであり、さらに中国語では「[Lisi xie de][shu]」([Lisi書く的][本])のように、de (的)が同様の機能を果たしている。このように、本研究では、2つ以上の要素からなる統語体において、ラベルを決めるメカニズムの言語間の共通点と多様性を明らかにする比較統語論研究である。
