Outline of Research at the Start	近年の統語研究においては名詞項が普遍的構造を持つという仮説と言語間で名詞項構造に差違があるとするパラメータ化仮説の2つが大きな潮流になっている。本研究はこの2つの仮説の核心部分を併せ持つ仮説を新たに構築し、通言語的な観点から検証する。この仮説によれば、名詞項は通言語的に決定詞等の機能範疇主要部と名詞句（NP）の併合操作により形成されるが、出来上がった名詞項に機能範疇主要部のラベルが付与される言語と名詞句（NP）のラベルが付与される言語が存在することになる。名詞項構造の通言語的な分析を通してラベリング理論の精緻化に寄与することを目指す点に本研究の特色があると言える。
