Outline of Research at the Start

「語」は音と意味と文法が交差する最初の単位である。本研究は、語形成において音・意味・文法が有機的に対応付けられているという事実に注目し、その実態を特に挑戦度の高い「形容詞の派生」について検証し、生成文法系の形態理論を用いてモデル化することを目指す。研究代表者と研究分担者２名の共同研究により、近代英語と現代英語について体系的にデータを収集し、理論によるテクニカルな分析を施し、新たな仮説を導く。
