Outline of Research at the Start	国内大学に通う基礎から中級レベルの学習者のアカデミック英語能力（本研究では、読む・聞く・書く・話すの４技能）に差を生む要因は何か解明する。主に語彙知識に焦点を当て、複数の要因（日本語力、等）との関係性を試験やインタビューを数回実施し調査する。加えて、大学入学後、CLIL（内容言語統合型学習）という指導法を取り入れたアカデミック英語授業を約２年間受講する同学習者の能力がどのような経年変化を辿るか調査する。現在、各学習者の技能間に見られる得意・不得意部分の背景にある要因や、改善に向けた対応方法が見えづらいが、これを可視化し、国内外の研究者や教員等に対し情報発信することで言語教育の質の向上を目指す。
