Outline of Research at the Start

現行の中学校英語教科書では学習の核となる文法項目は合理的原則なく提示されている．本研究では，現行の中学校英語教科書全6点において主要文法項目が初出導入時及びそれ以降いかなる頻度で出現するかを計測し，文法項目の学習機会が適正に確保されているかどうかを検証する．本研究の特徴は (1) 出現頻度を時系列で追跡すること，(2) 実際の授業環境における英語使用機会を全数調査すること，及び (3) 出現頻度の推移のパターンを自ら開発した統計手法により抽出し，項目間の比較を可能にしたことの3点であり，いずれも従来の教材研究には見られない独自性がある．
