Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は、英語で新たな知識や情報を得て勉学や生活に活用する汎用的学習英語力を可視化し、通常の英語授業内での指導や育成が可能かを検証する。具体的には、同能力を文献研究と授業観察により定義化・モデル化し、その指導原理と技法を用いて授業実践を行い、その能力が習得されたかを事前事後テスト、教室談話分析、生徒の成長実感調査、教師への聞き取り調査により解明する。理論・方法論的にはCLIL（内容言語統合型学習）に依拠するが、研究対象は通常の小学校・中学校・高校での英語の授業と学習者である。その意義は、21世紀の情報基盤型グローバル社会に求められる言語能力の育成と方法論に対する知見を与えることにある。
