Outline of Research at the Start	在日日系ラティーノ（南米出身者）第２世代の言語文化レパートリーに関する意識を、インタビューと作文により調査し、レパートリーの機能や家庭言語政策を中心に、その主観的意味世界を分析する。複言語/文化間実践の評価は、従来の単言語ネイティブモデル基準に還元すべきでなく、個人の経験、とくに社会的言語観の制約と個人的エージェンシーの行使を反映した言語文化イメージを、概念化することから可能になるという考えに立脚する。本研究は、海外の研究者と共同でおこなう。在日日系ラティーノ事例研究を、応用言語学におけるラティーノ研究の国際的な議論に位置づけ、集団の特質を考慮しながら複言語/ 文化間実践について概念化する。
