Outline of Research at the Start	教科学習が学年相応のレベルまたはそれ以上に達しているかを検証するために、同じ教科の同じ単元を対象に、母語を使って教える授業と第二言語を使って教える授業を参観する。フィールドノートを取り、同時に録画し、さまざまな観点から授業分析する。さらに、母語と第二言語の話す能力が教科学習を行う上で十分に発達しているかを調べるために、発展途上にあるバイリンガルと確立されたバイリンガルの発話を比較する。最後に、教科学習を通して得られた話す能力を測定するため、既存の様々なスピーキング・テストを実施し、教科学習を通して言語学習も行っているイマージョン児童の話す能力の測定に適切なテストとは何かを検討する。
