Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は「琉球をめぐる国際的な歴史像の構築ー日本・中国・米国の歴史認識を中心にー」をテーマにして、グローバルヒストリーの観点から琉球に対する歴史認識を明らかにする。これまで研究代表者は、琉球をめぐる19世紀国際関係史をテーマにして、1850年代のペリー来航、1870年代の琉球処分が持つ国際性について明らかにしてきた。これらの研究成果を踏まえ、本研究においては19世紀の外交案件を中心に、当時の琉球をめぐる日本・中国・米国の三ヶ国間における平和に向けた共通の歴史像を構築することを目的とする。
