Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、一つの国家、言語には収まり切らない歴史として、敗戦から復興及び冷戦期までの日本の赤十字運動の実態について解明する。以下のテーマを中心に日本の帝国解体から戦後復興の過程を人道支援機関の活動史の検証を通して再考する。まずは、帝国期から冷戦期への移行を象徴するものとして、満洲国赤十字社の活動を詳細に分析する。占領下及び冷戦期の人道活動の検証では、連合国占領軍による日本赤十字社の組織改編とアメリカ赤十字社の果たした役割、中国、ソ連圏からの引揚援護支援、原水爆禁止運動等の歴史に焦点を絞り、戦争を放棄した国家の赤十字社としての特殊性、あるいは日本戦後における人道概念の普遍性について考察する。
