Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、明治30年の伝染病予防法により確立した感染症予防体制に関し、地域社会と密接な関係にある市町村と衛生組合の役割に着目する。なぜなら市町村は予防対策の経費を負担し、衛生組合は地域統合の核となり予防対策に住民を動員するとともに、衛生談話会の開催や定期的な大掃除の実施等を通じて近代的な衛生思想の普及に努めており、両者の主体的な活動がなければ予防対策は遂行できなかったからである。本研究は、市町村と衛生組合が予防対策上如何なる役割を果たしたのかを究明し、地域社会の人々が如何にして予防対策に付随する近代的な事物・規範・価値観を受容し、自らの社会を変質させていったのかを解明するものである。
