Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、トルキスタンと中央アジアという二つの地域概念の歴史的役割を考究する。近代以降、中央アジアでは秩序と主権をめぐる状況が宗教や民族等の諸要因と連関して変動するが、その中で生起した両者の概念的接合と共振の背景と意味は十分に解明されていない。そこで、各種文献やメディア上にみえる両概念の用法、および現地識者の地域認識にかかわる言説を分析し、両者の接合と共振がいかに生起し、それがいかなる意義をもつのかを明らかにする。この位相に着目することで、政治的統合の理念やイデオロギーとしての両概念の機能および相互作用を浮き彫りにし、秩序と主権の長期的動態や中央アジアの歴史的地域構造の理解に新知見を提供する。
