Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は緊張が深まる南中国（華南）の歴史と社会について、文献史料と実地調査の成果を用いて考察を進める。具体的には19世紀半ばから20世紀前半までの台湾を中心に、様々な文化的背景を持つ漢人移民の入植、彼らと外地からやってきた統治権力（清朝、日本および国民政府）との関係、移民同士の激しい競争と地域の利害を代表するリーダーの成長、彼らと先住民族で、日本人および戦後新たに大陸から流入した外省人との交流、融合および分断について、これまで研究が少なかった台湾中部を中心に分析を加える。このような作業により台湾を中国の沿海・周辺地域における社会変容の歴史との関連の中に位置づけて理解することをめざす。
