Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、20世紀前半における政治的動乱のため東西トルキスタン（現在の中央アジア）から逃れたテュルク系の亡命者と、日本人外交官・軍人らとの交渉に焦点を当て、1930年代後半に中央アジアへの進出を狙った日本の対ソ戦略とその破綻に至る過程をユーラシア規模の視点から考察することを目的とする。その交渉の背景として本研究では日本が1930年代に中東へ積極的に経済的進出を果たしていたことに注目し、日本・中東間の綿貿易（綿花・綿製品）を具体的事例として検討する。
