Outline of Research at the Start

7世紀初頭頃に登場した古代チベット帝国（吐蕃）は、その卓越した軍事力と外交運営能力により、2世紀半の間ユーラシア東部地域の大国の地位を保ち続けた。本研究では、このチベット帝国の外交の理念と実態についてチベット側の史料を主に使いつつ解明する。具体的には（1）チベットと唐の盟約締結の過程、（2）国境策定の方法、（3）チベットと唐間の婚姻外交における理念のすり合わせと調整、の3点に注目する。
