Outline of Research at the Start

唐王朝の軍事力の中には「蕃将・蕃兵」が存在する。蕃将・蕃兵とは、もともと唐の周辺にいたエスニック集団に出自し、唐朝へ帰属した後、唐の軍事組織にとりこまれた者たちである。唐前半では対外拡張の軍事力の一翼をにない、唐後半では禁軍や地方藩鎮軍の一部を構成し、国内で起きた反乱の鎮圧に功績をあげた。本研究は、唐朝が蕃将・蕃兵を取り込んでいくメカニズムを墓誌など石刻史料を利用して考察し、唐朝の性格を明らかにするものである。
