Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は「琉球」「朝鮮（大韓帝国）」という「小国」に焦点を合わせて、欧米列強とアジア諸国に挟まれた明治日本が〈どのようにして〉国境を形成し、拡大することができたのかを明らかにし、太平洋史も見据えつつ、現代の沖縄や南北朝鮮問題、東アジアにおけるアメリカ・中国・日本のプレゼンスという問題への一定の示唆を得ることを目指す。
