Outline of Research at the Start

英仏の歴史に多大な影響を及ぼした百年戦争は、誰と誰、どことどこの戦いだったのか。通説では、主従関係にあった二人の王の争いとして始まり、最終的には二つの国家の戦争として終わったとされる。
これに対して、本研究では、英王と仏王が取り交わした休戦や和平の文書において、戦争の当事者がどのように記されたかの分析を通じて、歴史学上「百年戦争」と呼ばれる出来事を、同時代の人々がどのように捉えていたかを解明することを目的とする。それは、19世紀フランスにおける「国民史」の創出を背景として生まれた「百年戦争」概念に対して、戦乱を生きた人々の同時代認識と数世代に及ぶその変容という視点から再考を迫るものである。
