Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、近世・近代において、カトリックのポーランドと、正教のロシアの両文化圏の影響下に置かれた、現在のリトアニア、ウクライナ、ベラルーシにほぼ相当する地域に関する歴史叙述の登場と近代以降のその変容を考察する。歴史叙述が学術化する一方で、国家やネイションの正当性を支える手段ともなる近代に焦点を当て、ロシア帝国の膨張的な歴史認識がむしろこの境界域の知識人自身による歴史叙述から登場したのではないか、この地域の歴史のポーランド史からの切り離しとロシア史への合流が、ウクライナやベラルーシ、リトアニアなどの新たなナショナル・ヒストリーの誕生に影響を与えたのではないか、という視点から検討を加える。
