Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は，写本を用いた歴史の基礎研究であり，ビザンツ学・文献学という枠組みを保ちつつ，その成果をメディア論に展開することを期すものである．本研究の概要は，以下の２点に整理される． ① 西洋史中世初期における，豊かな類聚（アンソロジー）写本の存在は，コンスタンティノープルを中心としたヘレニズム文化圏における図書・読書人文化の豊かさであることを示す． ② 前近代，写本による類聚書制作の営みは，現代におけるテキストデータ編纂における様々な課題を共有するものであり，その課題に応えた形で原著者や編集者だけでなく匿名の読者（写本の制作依頼者）にも歴史証言者としての意義を見出す．
