Outline of Research at the Start

沖縄県では200以上の水中遺跡やその候補となる関連地が確認されているが、明確な水中洞穴遺跡は確認されていない。本研究は、考古学的・人類学的にそのポテンシャルが明らかでありながら未だに不明な点が多い、沖縄県内の水中洞穴に関する基礎情報収集と分布・確認調査を実施し、データベースを作成するとともに、その基礎的調査・研究を行う。海底面が低下していた頃の未知の人類活動の一端を解き明かすことを目指すものである。
