Outline of Research at the Start	古代エジプトの社会統治の中核となる王権は、ファラオとその権力を聖化するものであり、それは、祖先への崇拝儀礼を通じて出自の正統性を確立することにより継承された。こうした王権観が生まれる文明形成期に、祖先祭祀の重要性が増大したと考えられるが、資料不足によりその具体像は明らかではない。しかし、ヒエラコンポリス遺跡にて近年、祖先祭祀の場と思われる先王朝時代の遺構が発見された。これを起点として、初期王朝時代の祭祀遺物の再分析も行い、祖先祭祀の視点から王権形成について新たな解釈を試みる。
