Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は瀬戸内の荘園を対象として、考古学的分析による時期ごとの集落景観の復元と、荘園における生活構造の解明により荘園管理の実態さらに社会動態を読み取ることを目的とする。古代から中世の荘園景観復元のため、地形・居住環境、生業に関わる考古資料並びに文献・絵図をついて複合的・学際的分析を行う。
本研究では藤原摂関家殿下渡領「鹿田庄」を主な対象とする。鹿田庄比定地である鹿田遺跡は40年に及ぶ発掘調査により全国でも指折りの情報が得られているだけでなく、鹿田庄文献も古代から近世にわたり存在する。本目的を達成できる希少な荘園である。鹿田庄をひとつのモデルとして瀬戸内海沿岸における荘園の具体相を明らかにする。
