Outline of Research at the Start	本研究の目的は、これまで萌芽的成果にとどまってきた京都府京都市域の近世墓標の考古学的調査を基軸として、従来捉えられてきた近世墓標への理解を一新することにある。具体的には、他の地域では稀な公家、武家、儒家、医家、商家など多様な階層を檀家とする京都市域の寺院墓地を対象として悉皆調査（墓標型式、銘文、使用石材など）を行い、その極めて高い歴史資料性を有することを明らかにする。それによって仏教的墓制として一面的に捉えられてきた近世墓制の評価を再考し、近世史の関連諸領域とも有機的に結合しうる新たな研究可能性を切り拓く試みとしたい。
