Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は,過去約200年間の日本周辺における冬季の温帯低気圧通過頻度や経路を,古日記天候記録と古気象観測資料,および公式気象観測資料をもとに解明することを目指すものである。現在,地球温暖化によって冬季の温帯低気圧活動が変化する可能性が指摘されている。本研究では地球温暖化の影響を無視できる19世紀にまで遡って温帯低気圧活動を復元することで,地球温暖化だけではなく気候システムの自然変動が温帯的気圧活動に及ぼす影響を明らかにする。
